Fortified Data Strengthens Team, Adds Janik, Harrington

CHARLOTTE, NC — September 25, 2015

Fortified Data, a leading data services firm, added Daniel Janik and Nicole Harrington to its team of expert data consultants.   Janik joins Fortified Data after 6 years as a Microsoft Premier Field Engineer, serving hundreds of Microsoft’s most important customers.  Harrington joins Fortified Data from Havi Global Solutions, where she managed several highly transactional data systems for Havi’s largest customers.

Prior to Havi, Harrington worked with CB&I (NYSE: CBI), where she ran a SQL Server environment supporting critical applications for more than 25,000 employees.  Harrington brings a diverse set of skills to Fortified Data, including Oracle 9i/10g/11g and SQL Server 2005/2008/2008r2/2012.   She also brings development expertise in Perl and Powershell.  Harrington will be working on Fortified Data’s Managed Services team, handling high transaction environments for two of the company’s largest clients.

Janik bring 18 years experience supporting and developing software solutions on the Microsoft platform, demonstrating a consistent record of increasing scalability and availability while lowering operating costs.  During his tenure at Microsoft, Janik supported over 287 different clients with both reactive and proactive database needs.  His strengths include deep technical understanding of the Microsoft database stack, Windows platform, and .NET (C# & VB). Daniel has written several tools enabling proactive assessment and management of SQL Server.

A longtime contributor to the SQL community, Janik has presented at several SQL Saturday events across the country.  His most recent presentations include:  The Do’s and Don’ts of Hardening SQL Server, Analyze Your Query Plan Like A Microsoft Engineer!, Locking, Blocking, Latching; Oh My! and Translating SANese to English: How To Manipulate Your Storage Admin.
Janik will join Fortified Data’s Professional Services team, handling projects for the company’s largest and most complex global customers.
